BEHIND THE LENS

About Us

What’s in a name? Well, hopefully with ours, a good indication of what we offer in capturing your special moments. Most people know the phrase “I’m on Cloud Nine,” but few realize the original favorite term was actually “Cloud Seven.” The first printed use of the term (in 1960) described Cloud Seven as “completely happy, perfectly satisfied; in a euphoric state.” That’s what we strive to make our customers feel, whether during a long, beautiful wedding day or a short, intimate family portrait session, or anything in between. Basically, we’re a talented photography duo that aims to have fun, relaxed sessions with our clients, while still producing seriously awesome results at an affordable price. Our photos, themselves, are much like our name – equal parts traditional,  yet distinctly unique. Cloud Seven Photography is located in Greenleaf, Wis. (near De Pere). Andrew

Andrew’s initial love for photography began in his teenage years and carried over into his career plans as he studied journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and went on to take photos at various newspapers.

During the past five years he’s won seven top photography awards from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association (including best overall newspaper photography twice, best sports photo, best general news photo and more). He’s also won 25 other journalism awards during the past half-decade, and has had his photos published in a state sports magazine and featured on a national surfing website. This decorated history ensures claims of candid, photo-journalism coverage of a wedding or event is not an empty marketing phrase, it is a promise born from experience. Andrew creates hundreds of photos per week for newspapers in an endless array of environments, giving him a natural ability to adapt to different shooting situations and capture life’s moments – both large and small – in dynamic ways. Andrew enthusiastically utilizes his unique award-winning photography skills during his wedding, senior and other portrait work as one-half of Cloud Seven Photography. Away from the camera, Andrew is known for his sharp and unwavering sense of humor, his imagination and robust creativity, his penchant for losing and his friendship.

Danielle

Danielle has taken numerous photography courses, making her well-versed and talented in taking portraits, posing subjects and documenting events in a photo-journalistic style. Her most passionate work in photography, though, is artistically capturing tiny, too-often-forgotten details. Danielle has developed a tremendous talent for taking gorgeous photographs of still life. This skill helps Cloud Seven Photography standout from others, as we are able to not only document people at an event in-depth and in stylish ways, but also the atmosphere and details that surrounds them in creative, artistic ways as well.

Danielle’s specialization in macro-photography  means that wedding clients will not see the laborious decisions they have made for their big day  - picking out decorations, attire, rings and jewelry, table settings, and more – become an afterthought as they are carried through the blur of their wedding day. Danielle will capture these details, and do so dynamically, preserving their memory forever. To see some of Danielle’s personal favorite detail shots, click here.

She is also the main creative force behind the scenes of Cloud Seven for scouting sites to shoot at and researching poses. She is the lead administrator, too, handling much of the client billing, inquiries and scheduling. Away from the camera, she is known most for her infectious laughter, her love of chocolate, her many travels around the world, and her friendly, creative spirit.
